TOP-CRMS, layong ibaba ang presyo at hindi dagdagan pa ang mga bayarin sa port operations

23 ENERO 2023, MAYNILA —Nilinaw ni Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago na hindi layon ng Trusted Operator Program - Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) na dagdagan pa ang taas ng presyo ng mga bilihin sa merkado, sa halip ito nga aniya ang tutugon sa mga unregulated charges sa logistics cost tulad ng container deposit na ipinapataw ng mga foreign shipping lines.

18 JANUARY 2023, MANILA — Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago explained that Trusted Operator Program- Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) will bring huge benefit against high unregulated charges in logistics costs such as container deposit and missing empty containers.

16 JANUARY 2023, MANILA — Eliminate container deposits and manage empty containers— these are the two primary purposes of the controversial Trusted Operator Program- Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) that some business groups are opposing. The resistance, supposedly based on the fear that the program would inflate the cost of logistics is far from the actual benefits it can bring to the table.

PPA: additional ship to solve long queues in Calapan

04 JANUARY 2023, CALAPAN, MINDORO —Deployment of additional ship is the visible solution seen by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) to address the long queues of passengers at the Port of Calapan experienced on the first day of back to school and work following the holiday season.

According to Port Management Office (PMO) Mindoro Port Manager Elvis Medalla, aside from the strong sea waves and bad weather prevailed in the province, the turn-around time of the passenger ships at the port was likewise slow due to reduced number of fast craft traveling at Calapan Port.

04 ENERO 2023, MAYNILA —Karagdagang barko ang nakikitang solusyon ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) sa naging mahabang pila ng mga pasahero sa Port of Calapan sa unang araw ng balik eskwela at trabaho matapos ang holiday season.

Ayon kay Port Management Office (PMO) Mindoro Port Manager Elvis Medalla, bukod kasi sa malakas na alon ng dagat at sama ng panahon, naging mabagal rin kasi ang turn-around time ng mga pampasaherong barko sa nasabing pantalan dahil nabawasan ang mga barko na bumabiyahe rito.

PPA: Heightened security protocol at ports all set this holiday season for expected 57M passengers

20 DECEMBER 2022, MANILA —Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago gathers Port Police Officials yesterday, December 19, 2022, to ensure safe and secured passenger travels at ports during peak season.

Days before Christmas and conduct of his port inspection, GM Santiago warned the Port Polices to conduct honest and transparent duties, since security is one of the day-to-day top priorities watched over by the agency to be executed in the busiest time of the year. 

PPA: WALANG PORT CLOSURE NGAYONG PEAK SEASON

14 DISYEMBRE 2022, MAYNILA — Nililinaw ng Philippine Ports Authority na walang “PORT CLOSURE” sa mga pantalan ng Maynila at Batangas ngayong Pasko at Bagong Taon. Ito ay matapos ang maling anunsyo ng 2GO Travel sa kanilang websites ukol sa di-umanong “port closures”ngayong peak season. 

Ayon kay General Manager Jay Santiago, tuloy ang 24/7 na operasyon sa mga pantalan at walang naiulat na pagsasara ng anumang pantalan ng PPA sa buong bansa. 

PPA: Digitization, key for swift transactions

10 DECEMBER 2022, MANILA —The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) management believes for faster and corruption-free transaction with the aid of digitization which will greatly benefit the port users nationwide.

In the recently concluded Department of Transportation (DoTr) Strategic Planning held on December 8, 2022, attended by its attached agencies, PPA General Manager Jay Santiago emphasized the importance of expanding PPA's communication infrastructure for transparency and connectivity of projects and transactions across the country.

PPA WARNS PASSENGERS AGAINST FIXER IN TIME OF PEAK SEASON

05 DECEMBER 2022, MANILA — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) clears that passengers should not be charged with extra fees at ports after receiving complaints of alleged charging of additional payment amid expected flocking of passengers at terminals during peak season.

On 30 November 2022, several passengers at Matnog Port reported to PPA Port Police the charging of extra Php 20.00 by the third party operator which is currently being investigated according to PMO Bicol Port Manager Ma. Magnolia S. Requejo.
