Bagong Port Operations Building at Transit Shed sa Port of Masbate, pinasinayaan na ng PPA

08 MARSO 2023, MASBATE — Pormal ng binuksan sa publiko ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) ang bagong Port Operations Building (POB) at Transit Shed nito sa Port of Masbate ngayong araw, ika-8 ng Marso 2023.

Mula sa dati nitong kapasidad na kaya lamang makapag serbisyo sa 100 na pasahero, kaya na ng bagong POB na maserbisyuhan ang mahigit na 500 pasahero anumang oras, higit na limang beses na mas malaki kumpara sa kapasidad ng lumang passenger terminal building sa pantalan.

ARTA GREEN LIGHTS TOP-CRMS

05 MARCH 2023, MANILA — After careful consideration and series of reviews, PPA Administrative Order (AO) No. 04-2021 or the “Policy on the Registration and Monitoring of Containers” of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and its Implementing Operating Guidelines gets a greenlight from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA). 

PPA was able to submit to ARTA the regulatory impact statement of the Trusted Operator Program- Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) on February 2, 2023 and after a month, ARTA has given it a rating of 36- "Good Practice RIS”. 

RECORD HIGH: PPA POSTS PHP 20.4 B REVENUE IN 2022, HIGHEST SINCE 1974

28 FEBRUARY 2023, MANILA — The Philippine Ports Authority generated a whopping Php 20.4B in revenues in 2022, the highest collected so far since the inception of the agency 48 years ago. According to PPA General Manager Jay Santiago, this success can be attributed to the authority's sound fiscal management and brought about by the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions leading to a positive rebound of the economy.

CARGO TRAFFIC HEALTHY YARD UTILIZATON IMPROVING SAYS PPA

16 FEBRUARY 2023, MANILA —The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has assured the public that there is no congestion nor backlog in all its covered ports as the year starts.

Comparing it to last year, as of January 2023, Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) has recorded 80.75% yard utilization rate or a 9.1% increase from January last year and Manila South Harbor with 67.80%, or a 0.3% decrease from last year respectively.

TOP-CRMS, layong ibaba ang presyo at hindi dagdagan pa ang mga bayarin sa port operations

23 ENERO 2023, MAYNILA —Nilinaw ni Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago na hindi layon ng Trusted Operator Program - Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) na dagdagan pa ang taas ng presyo ng mga bilihin sa merkado, sa halip ito nga aniya ang tutugon sa mga unregulated charges sa logistics cost tulad ng container deposit na ipinapataw ng mga foreign shipping lines.

16 JANUARY 2023, MANILA — Eliminate container deposits and manage empty containers— these are the two primary purposes of the controversial Trusted Operator Program- Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) that some business groups are opposing. The resistance, supposedly based on the fear that the program would inflate the cost of logistics is far from the actual benefits it can bring to the table.
