PPA PORT POLICE, PNP SAF-TRAINED GRADUATES NOW READY TO CONQUER MARITIME THREATS NATIONWIDE

PPA together with PNP-SAF has officially graduated 24 port police officers from its inaugural Seaport Special Response Course Class 01-2025

15 OCTOBER 2025  —  After a month of intensive tactical and maritime security training, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), in partnership with the Philippine National Police–Special Action Force (PNP-SAF), welcomed 24 newly graduate officers from the inaugural Seaport Special Response Course (SSRC) Class 01-2025, marking pioneering milestone in the agency’s mission to forge maritime security and heighten emergency response readiness across the nation’s ports.

The SSRC is a 30-day specialized training program conducted by PNP-SAF. Held from September 15 to October 15, 2025, the course provided a total of 240 training hours focused on tactical operations, crisis management, weapons proficiency, and physical conditioning to prepare PPA port police personnel for maritime and law enforcement contingencies.

During the ceremony, several graduates were recognized for their exemplary performance:

Academic Excellence Award: PP02 Jason M. Calixtro, Top 1 with a 98.19% average in academic and non-academic subjects

Top Gun Award (Live Firing):

  • Male: PP01 Jhon Jesie L. Gabun — 82.45%

  • Female: PP02 Mary Brisbane S. Bornillo — 83.65%

Strong Man and Woman Award (Physical Fitness):

  • Male: PP01 Jollie Boy J. Yucada — 91%

  • Female: PP02 Hannah Loubelle L. Baga-an — 92%

Best Team Award: Team 2 — composed of SPP1 Jojo V. Foronda, PPO2 Jason M. Calixtro, PPO2 Juliette Rose S. Arellano, PPO1 Carl Nino A. Terrinal, and PPO1 Ruben B. Valendez

The ceremony concluded with the pinning of the SSRC badge on all 24 graduates by qualified personnel, symbolizing their readiness to serve as PPA’s elite first responders in maritime and port security operations.

The graduation ceremony, held at the PPA Head Office in Manila, was attended by key officials including Engr. James J. Gantalao (Assistant General Manager for Engineering, AGME), Atty. Mark Jon S. Palomar (Assistant General Manager for Operations, AGMO), Eric Dimaculangan (Office of the General Manager), PPSUPT Salvador E. Dagoon Jr. (Course Director, SSRC CL 01-2025), and PPSSUPT Genaro P. Mancio Jr. (Course Chairman, SSRC CL 01-2025).

The PPA reaffirmed its commitment to building a capable, disciplined, and responsive port police force through continuous training and collaboration with national law enforcement agencies. The launch of the SSRC program underscores PPA’s dedication to maintaining safe, secure, and resilient seaports across the Philippine archipelago.
