02 FEBRUARY 2026 – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) have committed to fast-tracking port improvements after top officials, led by Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez and PPA General Manager Jay Santiago, conducted on-site inspections to personally assess passenger experience and port operations.

24 JANUARY 2026 — As the world marks World Education Day, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) underscores the importance of expanding learning spaces beyond the walls of the classroom and bringing education closer to real-world experiences that shape national development.

16 JANUARY 2026 – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is set to further strengthen the nation’s maritime trade and connectivity in 2026, following a robust performance in 2025 that saw total cargo throughput reach 308.5 million metric tons, a 6.6 percent increase from 2024. This milestone underscores the vital role of Philippine ports in driving trade, supporting local industries, and connecting communities across the archipelago.

06 JANUARY 2026 — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) logged a record-breaking volume of passenger traffic during the Christmas and New Year holiday peak, recording 6,281,052 passengers nationwide from December 15, 2025 to January 5, 2026, the highest since the agency’s establishment in 1974 and a new milestone in domestic sea travel demand.

29 December 2025 — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has recorded a significant improvement in traffic flow and logistics efficiency following the implementation of coordinated infrastructure, operational, and traffic management measures to address the build-up of cargo vehicles resulting from the load limit imposed on the San Juanico Bridge from May 16 to December 12, 2025. Shipcalls from June 2025 to November 2025 between the ports of Tacloban and Amandayehan reached up to 2,632 while rolling cargoes transported from said ports reached 7,256 for the same period.

22 DISYEMBRE 2025 — Mismong si PPA General Manager Jay Santiago ang bumungad sa mga pasahero ng Batangas Port ngayong  Disyembre 22, 2025, ilang araw bago magpasko upang tiyakin ang maayos at ligtas na byahe mga pasaherong uuwi sa probinsya at mga magbabakasyon sa long weekend.

21 DECEMBER 2025 — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) reassures the public that ports nationwide remain ready and well-prepared as more Filipinos travel to reunite with their families during the holiday season.

PPA General Manager Jay Santiago said the agency understands that holiday travel is especially important for families, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), balikbayans, and individuals heading home for Christmas, and emphasized that the PPA’s priority is to make every journey as safe, orderly, and comfortable as possible.

16 DECEMBER 2025 -- The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has announced during its year end press conference the intensified security measures across all PPA controlled and managed ports nationwide in preparation for the expected surge of passengers and cargo during the 2025 Christmas holiday rush starting December 15, 2025.

15 DECEMBER 2025 – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) recorded a strong financial and operational performance in 2025, reflecting its continued commitment to strengthening the country’s ports while delivering efficient and people-centered service to passengers, port workers, and stakeholders nationwide.

REVENUE

As of October 30, 2025, the PPA generated ₱24.97 billion in revenue, a 10.57 percent increase from ₱22.58 billion recorded during the same period in 2024.

12 DECEMBER 2025 – The Philippines has taken another step in enhancing its role in global trade and regional shipping networks as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., inaugurated the new Port Operations Building (POB) at the Port of Banago, Negros Occidental, on Friday, December 12, 2025 together with the officials from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) headed by Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago, local government leaders, and port stakeholders.
